After a quick lecture from my mum (don't go to London, don't leave your hotel room, don't shop) and a pretty uneventful journey, I arrived in London around 10:30 on Wednesday 21st September! I stayed at Copthorne Tara Kensington hotel which was just around the corner from High Street Kensington tube station and checked into a twin room so I had more space to throw my masses of luggage.
Five minutes after getting into my hotel room, I was off to Oxford Street via Marc By Marc Jacobs in Mayfair. Where else would I go?! During the walk from Mayfair to Selfridges I found Grosvenor Square which I immediately fell in love with! I'm totes going to have a picnic here next time I'm in the city.
Selfridges was the place where my addiction to Krispy Kremes started. Armed with my Glamour 241 vouchers, I managed to get through six doughnuts in three days. I'm so proud I managed to stop myself buying several boxes. Next it was off to the Lomography store in Soho, where I purchased a 'Diana Mini' camera (post coming soon) and then failed at assembling it in Garfunkels.
Off to shop! |
Happy 1st Birthday Shoe Galleries! |
One of the things I was most looking forward to was the Chanel x Harrods exhibition and boy it didn't disappoint. I'll be doing a longer post about it in the next week but I found it beautiful and mesmerising, especially the handbag room containing about 25 mini TV showing different stages of the production of Chanel handbags.
I went to see Avril Lavigne on Wednesday night with my Aunt and Uncle at Hammersmith Apollo! She was much better than I expected even though she was really late and cut the show one song early because she lost her voice. She sang everything I wanted her to sing (Happy Ending, Alice, Wish You Were Here) as well as the good old classics like 'Sk8er Boy'. I'm not going to lie - I felt underdressed and I was wearing bright red jeans, Urban Decay glitter eyeshadow and a load of keys around my neck. Tweens turned up in tiny skirts, ripped tights and bearly there vests. I felt so OLD!
I arrived back at my hotel at around 12:30am absolutely exhausted and buzzing from the gig. Being up since 6:30 had ruined my hair and sanity!
Exhausted! Clutching my oyster card and programme. |
