The Reading List - Getting your dream job, beautiful words and two artists you NEED to listen to.

You should DEFINITELY buy yourself some daffodils this week.  These have given me a week of happiness for a £1! 

Sometimes you just want to read an amazing article on the internet to stimulate your brain or to relax.  This is where The Reading List comes in.  I read so many articles during the week, I thought it was about time I shared them all with you!  Every Sunday I'll be publishing a new list for inspiration, laughs and motivation for you all to read.  I don't know what will be coming up but I do know that it'll be full of beautiful images, stories, tips and probably a few good rants too! Zooey Deschanel & my bunny iPhone case. (and where to get your own!)

This morning I sat and watched the latest episode of New Girl with a stack of Ritz-Philidelphia sandwiches and found myself having a mini heart attack when my iPhone case was on the screen.  Held by Zooey Deschanel.   I got the iPhone case last spring after a trip to Chinatown made me long for one and I have never ever regretted it...  well apart from that time I accidentally poked myself in the eye with it at 2am..

I Play Ukulele Now

One of my best friends bought me a Ukulele and a training book for Christmas!  Immediately I thought of Taylor Swift playing Fearless on her Ukulele and then discovered Zooey Deschanel playing and singing with Joseph-Gordon-Levitt.  With 500 Days Of Summer being my favourite film you can be sure that I have not stopped hitting replay, they are so adorable!  'Ukulele' is really fun to type too..

I Heart 2011

If you told me this time last year that the year ahead would be even better than 2010 I would have told you that it was impossible.  Whilst 2010 changed my life for the better, 2011 was about living in the moment and doing things I dream about doing.

2011 was the year I finally became a redhead and found a guy that tolerates my endless babbling about fashion, TV shows and my love of all things geek.  I also took a solo trip to London which was more liberating than daunting and managed to keep a 7 hour secret that my best friend was about to get engaged (so much harder than it sounds!). Obviously there have been some low points, mostly centred around all assignments (eight!) being due in the space of one week and the crippling cold and flu of November but with my best friends around I JUST managed to pull through. This was also the year I was to be hopelessly addicted to every TV show I watched with Chuck, Downton Abbey, The Rachel Zoe Project, Big Bang Theory, Happy Endings and of course New Girl being added to my weekly list. Bridesmaids, 50/50 and One Day dominated my favourite 2011 film choices and I finally watched and enjoyed The Dark Knight!  Fashion wise I tried to curb the spending but the subscription of Vogue, Elle and ASOS Premier made sure that my wardrobe stayed a little fresher with the purchase of wedges that are comfy to run in and a gorgeous black fitted Topshop dress that needs to be worn regularly because it is so damn amazing.

So what does 2012 bring?  Sitting here now I'm apprehensive about what's going to happen but I know that it'll be filled with smiles, red and falling over a million times.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Memorable moments this year.

I cried as soon as she got out of the car.  Knew I should have put some money on McQueen the day the engagement was announced. 

Possibly my favourite red carpet moment of the year, totes cried at their speeches.

Two weeks ago I got addicted to Downton Abbey and I've never looked back.  Mary is totes my favourite character.   Mary & Matthew <3

So every week on one of my days off (Wednesday and Friday) I want to try to spread some happiness and share the little things that have made me smile in the week.

Fall TV - New Girl

It's finally time for all of our favourite US TV shows to come back into our lives! Yay!
Today I'm previewing the new show that I am most excited about - New Girl.

Zooey Deschanel (500 Days Of Summer) plays Jess, a recently heartbroken lady that is moving in with three guys.  Jess is zany, sings to herself and watches Dirty Dancing on repeat whilst she mourns her breakup.  TV critics love it and it is said to be the most anticipated new show this year.

I've been a huge fan of Zooey Deschanel since watching 500 Days Of Summer and I'm so happy that I'm going to get a weekly dose of her to brighten the week.  Also, it's being shown in the US on the same day as Glee so it's going to be a great day! For those in the UK, E4 have already bought the series to help fill the huge gap that Friends left so it looks like we will be seeing a lot of this show in 2012.  Let's all start praying that it gets more than one series and doesn't get cancelled like lots of shows last year.
