This morning I sat and watched the latest episode of New Girl with a stack of Ritz-Philidelphia sandwiches and found myself having a mini heart attack when my iPhone case was on the screen. Held by Zooey Deschanel. I got the iPhone case last spring after a trip to Chinatown made me long for one and I have never ever regretted it... well apart from that time I accidentally poked myself in the eye with it at 2am..

The last two weeks have been rather insane with all the assignment deadlines but it's still been eventful. Here's a list of the wonderful things that have happened..
- I decided to get an iPad on launch day and as expected, it's wonderful!
- I did a massive project about a co-brand between Cornetto and Terry's Chocolate Orange whilst the weather was nice and lovely and I was stuck in the library (and I nearly fainted in the process).
- I had a massive shopping spree in H&M to celebrate the end of the Cornetto project.
- I read Hunger Games book 1
- I managed to cut my finger in two places, at least I could use my totally cute plasters from Superdrug!
- The large packet of Sensations is on sale for 99p in Tesco. Approximately 5 have been consumed since finding out this information.
- Re-addicted to Caffe Nero fruit boosters.
- Also addicted to 'Dragonvale' game that Tom downloaded to my iPad. The baby dragons are seriously cute.
- Apprentice is back! YAY. However I ended up shouting at the TV four times.... how are they so stupid?!

On the first day of being assignment free I've hit 10,000 all time blog views. It may not sound a lot but it means the world to me and I want to say a big THANK YOU to you all.
As a treat I designed a new header and design to mark the occasion. The design-nerd I am designed it in line with my CV and soon to be Twitter and other social networking sites. The header was created on iPages on my iPad (more about that this weekend) and the template was using the Blogger customisation process and a touch of HTML! Now it's time to say a tearful farewell to my previous layout, and go onwards and upwards with the new one!

Time to test it out! The application on the red was really good. I could have lasted with one coat if I was in a rush and still have really good coverage. The green on the other hand was very streaky but still really pretty. I have yet to fully test the glitter but I was impressed with the quick blob I tried out when I was testing colours. Hopefully it will give me some sort of good luck with my assignments when I put it on this week!

Apparently I was also on BBC regional news, which coincidently was the only broadcast about the Royal Visit that I didn't watch.

Bias for my university aside, De Montfort did an amazing job of the whole Royal event. Everything seemed to be organised perfectly, and everyone knew what was going on and when. A few things to highlight..

- The social media side was handled really well with #royaldmu hashtag being implemented and used more than a week before the event.
- Everything was spotless - the cleaners deserve awards and a bonus!
- Daily emails to staff and students was a great insight and made the whole university feel a part of the event.
- Branding on the bunting, flags, programmes, invites were all uniform.
- Free stuff for students (mass hurrah!) included flags, programmes, breakfasts and bucket loads of entertainment.
The photos below are the from the hours prior to the moment the Queen and Kate walked through the doors I walk through everyday (insane!). We got treated to three different and very cold dance groups and a Gospel choir that same 'Oh Happy Day' to us! In terms of crowd numbers, I'd predict that around 500-600 people showed up. 6am get up and five hours of waiting was SO worth it.

I bought this jumper at Spitalfield Market, London last month for a tiny £20. I love that it's seriously warm and has tiny pieces of different coloured fluff woven into the blue wool. It's also perfect to throw on and (literally) run for the bus in the mornings without turning up to uni and wondering why the hell I picked out this outfit..

Doesn't she look great?! I'm so happy she has decided to dye her hair back to the original colour and not stick with the weird blonde Marilyn style! Hopefully this is finally the start of her comeback. I just hope she chooses some decent films and doesn't try to release a single/perfume/fitness dvd/range of jail clothing. Can somebody sit her down and make her watch Mean Girls please? I really want to watch it now..

I'm so pleased that my university and my faculty building was chosen as part of the Royal Jubilee visit, this morning was amazing! I got up at six and arrived at DMU at 7. After many complaints of frozen toes, the Queen, Kate and Prince Phillip arrived at 11:40 and left after a fashion show at 12:20. I got on the front row of the crowds so I was fortunate to see the whole thing and even got a few photos of the Queen and Kate!
