Twenty. (a week late..)

I was in a good mood!

Exactly a week ago it was my 20th birthday - I know.. Old! It's taken me a week to process it all and to make it worse today was the first of my exams. However there is a silver lining as I found a pair of RayBan style sunglasses by Pepe Jean in Boots that surprisingly suit me. I have a weird relationship with sunglasses as I don't want to look like a forced Facebook photo in Ray Bans and I don't want to have bug eyes like Nicole Riche. Bring on the 50% off coupon soon as they cost £50 at the moment!


Anyway I digress, I had so much fun on my birthday weekend including a trip to IKEA (if I couldn't go to London I had to go to my second favourite place!), Handmade Burger Company, the gorgeous new patisserie in town and Bella Italia. All in all it's safe to say that I was very well fed all weekend. Here's the snaps..

Mary Katrantzou, will you make me some sequinned shorts pretty please?

As part of their 'More Dash than Cash' supplement this month, Vogue UK sent plain denim Levi jeans to a range of designers and asked them to add their own twist to them. My clear favourite was Mary Katrantzou who added loads and loads of sequins! I want a pair! These are perfect for the summer and definitely stand out from the crowd!

In terms of the whole 'More Dash Than Cash' supplement I found it a disappointment. I appreciate that Vogue is the high end fashion magazine and I love that aspect but only having one or two sub-£50 items in each feature with £150-£300 pieces isn't really pocket friendly. H&M was the sponsor for the supplement and their price points that rarely go beyond £35 didn't really suit the content. Must do better Vogue!

The Easter Post

It's Easter Sunday and I'm sitting with a sleeping dog watching Big on tv. Today has consisted of a glorious lie-in, watching Mad Men and eating lots and lots of Mini Eggs. Amazing.

Karlie Kloss is divine in Vogue UK

I really had to share these scans of this month's Vogue UK. As soon as it arrived last week I tore the packaging open, scowled at the cover star and made a VERY excited squeak when I saw that Karlie Kloss was featured in her own story titled "An American In Paris". As if we didn't already know her trait as a chameleon supermodel, there's 10+ pages of photos from her week each better and different from the last. We follow Karlie from her bedroom, to the shows and to a room containing Karl Lagerfeld as if it was the most natural thing in the world to be in his presence.

She even has her own monogrammed pjs. I want some!

I think this final shot is my favourite, she looks so young full compared to the others. It's insane to think she is 19 - the same age as me.

Taylor Swift's cat is freaking adorable.

Warning - this post is full of adorkable.

This is Taylor Swift's Cat - Meredith.

Meredith is a 'Scottish Fold' kitty because she has a rare gene that makes her ears folded.  

Taylor told Ellen that she is forever taking videos of Meredith.  They make me say 'awwwwwwwww' for a long period of time. 

She also showed Ellen the cutest cat fail ever.

It's the American Country Music Awards this weekend and to win Taylor needs votes so she asked Meredith for help..  

I want one!  I'm just not sure Frankie would agree.. if he even noticed..

Incoming! The Carrie Diaries start filming.

The synopsis from Hollywood Reporter reads "The Carrie Diaries is a coming-of-age tale set in the 1980s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan. Sarah Jessica Parker played an adult Carrie on HBO's Sex and the City from 1998-2004."


My synopsis is "OMG this is going to be amazing!"

So here's some facts for you

• AnnaSophia Robb is the starlet playing our favourite Carrie Bradshaw
• Eric Daman is the costume designer and worked with Patricia Field on the Original Sex and The City and is also the amazing costume designer on Gossip Girl (he's a very busy man!)
• Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are on the executive producer team and also worked on Gossip Girl (and Chuck and Hart of Dixie).
• Candace Bushnell, author of Sex and the City and Carrie Diaries also joins them.
• Freema Agyeman (Martha in Doctor Who) also joins the cast as Carrie's mentor.
• At the moment a pilot is being filmed for The CW channel but I can't see many things stopping this from being on our screens in September!

I spotted the Sex and The City 2 companion book and The Carrie Diaries in a local charity shop window and paid £6 for the pair yesterday - a good cause at both ends of the transaction.
