The week of early starts, fundraising and heights
Posted on 11:19 by Unknown
To say that last week was busy would be an understatement!
It all started with the beginning of Charity Week at my part-time workplace. This year I have been partly organising the events and with the help of an awesome co-worker, we managed to get hold of a Snoopy outfit! On Monday morning, myself and Snoopy roamed the streets to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK and raised £67.33 in three hours! The kids and old ladies loved Snoopy and I got unlimited hugs! Result!
At 7am on Tuesday I was in a car off to a work meeting in Enfield, London! Enfield was one of the places that got rioted and I could see the burnt out Sony factory from the meeting room.
It was back to Charity Week on Thursday and it was cake day! Woo! Wednesday night we baked cakes and delivered them at 9am to be sold to the customers!
The weekend was filled with work as usual and I ended up collapsing into the sofa on Saturday night in front of the TV to watch Doctor Who (yay!) and Mean Girls with two boxes of Pocky for my efforts.

On Wednesday, I went to GoApe in Cannock Forest with my family and friends! If you haven't heard about it before, it's basically an assault course in the trees! I climbed ladders, went down awesome zip wires and balanced on some VERY uneven walkways. In my opinion, the best part was the zip wires, the rush of excitement was exhilarating and I couldn't stop smiling!

By Friday I was exhausted but still ended up helping with the family shopping (I carried the heavy bags) and finding pictures of myself as a child!
The night of nails
Posted on 09:41 by Unknown
After realising that I don't have to go to work until Saturday, it dawned on me last Monday that I could actually paint my nails and leave it on for more than two days! I emptied out my entire nail polish collection and got to work!
The end result was a disaster! I was too impatient and didn't leave enough time to dry so it was a mess!
I then decided to try stripes using my Models Own/WAH Nail art pen. It worked surprisingly well but I still didn't feel fulfilled.
Looking over at my magnetic board of random leaflets and paper, I spotted a 'Herajuku Lovers' perfume card and got a little inspired. I was so impressed with the final result!

Puddles in August
Posted on 09:01 by Unknown
Disaster struck today when it started raining whilst I was shopping - my beloved £3 George flats died. I bought them about two years ago, forgot about them, and wore them to death this summer. As you can see from the pictures below, they nearly ripped in half and have a hole in one of them!
I ran (and leapt over huge puddles) to M&S in search of some replacement shoes to go home in and found these in the sale for £9 down from £19.50. Result.
What is it with all of this horrible weather? Rain AND the cold in August makes Charlotte a very sad lady :(

Hairspiration - plaits
Posted on 12:02 by Unknown
After years of having a short bob hairstyle, this summer I have been growing my hair so that I can plait it! Here's some 'hairspiration'...
My Gossip Girl season 4 DVD arrived today! Time to stare at THE dress in THAT scene again. Sigh.

Blast from the past - my year 9 prom dress
Posted on 09:54 by Unknown
I've just been sorting out my closet and found this - my year nine prom dress. As a school nerd I don't think anyone was expecting me to turn up. Whilst my classmates forked out £50-£100 (some even more) on a dress, heels that they really couldn't walk in and a limo, I turned up in my aunt's flash car, wearing a £20 Tammy dress and flats. I had even straightened my hair, something that was pretty rare to my 14 year old self. I drank the punch, danced all night then walked home with my Dad a very happy girl.
What did you wear to your prom? Let me know in the comments and on Twitter!

Knit me up.
Posted on 12:56 by Unknown
It's nearly that exciting time of the year when we can start shopping for winter coats and new uni stationary! When the autumn/winter pieces started dropping onto the high street before my holiday, a part of me definitely wanted to forget about buying a bikini and start colour blocking with the lush burgundy and mustard autumn shades. Most of all, I felt the need to buy knitwear, and lots of it! Here's a few pieces that I've been staring at over the last month in ASOS and Topshop..
ASOS Hip Length Arran Cardigan - Cream £30 |
ASOS Jumper With Star Elbow Patches - £35 |
Knitted Oxblood Stripe Guernsey Style Jumper - £40 |
Knitted Cream Ampersand Symbol Jumper - £46 |

Treats of the leather and wool variety - Bicester Outlet Village.
Posted on 09:46 by Unknown
On the way back from Weymouth, we stopped off at Bicester Outlet Village for a tiny shopping trip. This being my very first visit to the village to say I was excited would be a massive understatement. With a wedding to get to in the evening, I only had FIFTY MINUTES to blitz the whole place in the heat and the crowds. Challenge accepted.
Speed walking through crowds of people clutching Juicy Couture and Vivienne Westwood boutique bags, I managed to browse Mulberry (bags from £199) twice, drop into a 70% off Cath Kidston and hit Vivienne Westwood, Aubin & Wills, Wolford and Burberry to name a few. This place is a must for those that adore high end fashion and can afford to spend more than the average high street purchase. Keep label-haters away (or confine them to the Starbucks) and try not to visit in peak periods.
I obviously couldn't leave without snapping up a few pieces!
Jack Wills Merino Wool cardigan - £69 down to £35
Smythson Of Bond Street London notebook - £60 down to £29.50
I wore the cardigan today and it is SO warm! I've got feeling it will be worn to death this winter. The Smythson notebook is my little treat. I've been wanting something to store all of my favourite London details in for a while and it's just perfect. The blue case is also adorable and will help keep it out of harms way in the jungle of a handbag!
