Wedding bells and alarm bells

I can honestly say that I do not know what just happened to me.   As a life long hater of Valentine's day and rom-coms with sickly perfect happy endings, I don't tend to think about the mushy romantic stuff around February because it makes me want to buy Louboutins.

Two hours ago, Net-A-Porter posted pictures of their exclusive Jason Wu wedding line on their Facebook page.  

Isn't it PRETTY?!

Even though I knew about the wedding section of Net-A-Porter, I never really looked into it much because I didn't really feel a need to.  Not that I really have a need now but just go with it ;)  

I'm thoroughly hoping that I can get this romantic-y feeling out of my head before the big 14th February, I was rather looking forward to concocting some anti-Valentine's day plans.

Quiet night in turned mini fashion show.

I had the rest of the night all planned out - my PJs were on, my internet and macbook were firmly off and there was a stack of magazines ready and waiting on my bed to be read.  It was going to be a fashionably relaxing night.  That is until I started reading Elle and all of my plans went to hell.

Even though I've been aware of the dropping of hemlines for a while, reading about it again seemed to cause a spark in my mind.  In that moment, I remembered a long length dress and skirt that I had forgotten about in my wardrobe.  The skirt was a regretted purchase from H&M and the dress, originally from Gap, had been worn once to a wedding in the summer.

10 minutes later, my Elle magazine was buried under a mountain of options and I was parading different looks into my parent's room where my Mum was dosing off to sleep reading.

My conclusion?  It's going to take a while to get used to the lower hemlines but I think I'll be ready to attempt to pull it off soon once I get over feeling slightly like a housewife with short legs.  I can't wait to get the rest of my wardrobe out without waking up the rest of my family so I can work it out...

I'm not going to lie, when I first saw this cover on the Vogue UK Twitter page I immediately thought it screamed nineties.  Since when did Vogue become more about someone's story and less about the fashion? And speaking of, isn't the pastel theme a little spring cliche?  I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of the magazine on Thursday in an attempt to change my mind!
